Úrsula López (Córdoba, 1976). Dancer.
At the age of eight, she began to study at the Dance Conservatory of Malaga, specializing in classical ballet and Spanish dance, and also studied flamenco with various masters. At 17, she moved to Sevilla, where she studied with Manolo Marín, who took her to the Festival of Spoleto in Italy in 1995 to perform in the opera 'Carmen' directed by Carlos Saura.
In 1996, she entered the Compañia Andaluza de Danza (CAD), where she remained until 2004. During her time with the Compañia, under the direction of José Antonio, she performed as a soloist in various productions, such as Vals Patético (1999), Dharma (2000), Picasso (2001), Bodas de Sangre (directed by Antonio Gades in 2002), and La Leyenda (2002). In January and February of 2004, she toured in the production of Bodas de Sangre and La Leyenda in New York, Boston, Washington and Hartford, where she was enthusiastically received. During the past eight years she has performed regularly in theatres in Spain, Japan, Switzerland, Greece, Italy, Germany, Brazil, the US, and Thailand. |
