Miguel Angel Heredia (1985, Jerez de la Frontera) is
an extraordinary talent of the rich Jerezian school of flamenco.
Encouraged by his own gipsy family and certainly by the many professional flamenco artists from his neighbourhood too, he has been intensely occupied with flamenco music from his childhood onwards. The trajectory of his training so far is highly impressive. He took classes with artists such as Manuela Carpio, Angelita Gomez, El Guito, Alejandro Granados, Joaquin Grílo, La Chiqui de Jerez, Antonio El Pipa,…
The show is called “RAICES” and brings a summary of all the Jerezian Flamenco styles and the artists that have influenced him as a dancer since his childhood.
Very regularly, he performs in one of Andalucia’s numerous flamencopeñas. He also danced in the “Bodas de Sangre” show, an adaptation of the Teatro Dionisio de Jerez. Furthermore, he has also become a member of flamenco pianist Reina Gitana’s ensemble, with which he toured in the whole of Spain.
Miguel Angel Heredia also had the honour and the pleasure to be able to perform for the Spanish princesses Doña Pilar & Elena de Bourbón.
During his first performances in the Benelux, such as the Gipsyfestival Tilburg 2005, he was very warmly applauded by the public. This also got him a very positive review with picture in the dutch press.
Miguel Angel Heredia has made a career in Japan. He returns there several times a year and is one of the most popular Flamenco artists.
This company of young Jerezian gipsies perfectly illustrates the unique aroma of their home town’s flamenco.
A performance by Miguel Angel Heredia guarantees a sizzling and exciting spectacle, with a definite authentical character.
